Well, this chapter took longer than most to write... NO idea why, but probably my MASSIVE mood swings at the moment. One minute I'm happy and laughing, the next I'm near suicidal, which sucks. Anyway, yeah... So I hope it doesn't sound to bitty and stuff.

Tension And Mind Games

"Connor!" Mel turned to the young man and smirked happily. "Fancy bumping into you!"

Connor raised an eyebrow at Melissa but didn't comment, instead he said. "You gonna introduce us?" He glanced at Azriel and Rosa.

"Of course. This is Azriel, you remember me telling you about him." Melissa said, slightly pointedly. "And this is Rosie, Azzie's friend."

"Rosa" Rosa corrected, a light scowl marring her forehead.

Connor looked Rosa over, and a smile finally graced his lips. "It's a pleasure to meet you" He said with a slight bow. He held his hand out and a red rose materialised in his hand. "For you"

Rosa blushed. "Uh... Ah... Um... Thanks..." She said finally, accepting the rose. Connor chuckled warmly. "You're a Conjurer" She said.

"That I am" Connor nodded. "I'm assuming you're just passing through?" He asked.

"Um..." Rosa blinked. Connor had definately directed the queston at her. "We're looking for Magykians who could teach at a school I'm planning on building."

Connor nodded in understanding. "Ah, and you're looking for Earth Magykians." Rosa nodded. "Well, you'll have a hard time finding Magykians suitable for teaching here. Most of the Magykians here are either fat, lazy and rich, or lecherous and perverted, neither have very good morals."

"What about you?" Rosa asked.

Connor thought for a moment, before he leaned in close to Rosa, so close his lips were nearly brushing her ear. "I'm a seducer." Rosa blushed bright crimson, and COnnor smirked as he moved back again.

Rosa coughed slightly. "So, not very good teacher material either." She said, trying to get back on topic.

"Oh, I don't know. I'm pretty good at knowing when I'm overstepping boundaries." Connor replied. Rosa blinked, but had to think about it.

"Obviously not" Azriel growled to himself, glaring at Connor, clenching his teeth and balling his hands into fists.

"We really shouldn't be stood in the street like this. We'll draw attention to ourselves." Connor said suddenly as a couple of guys walking past wolf-whistled, looking at Melissa's ass. "How about I treat you to dinner?" He offered, looking mostly at Rosa.

Rosa glanced at Azriel, who scowled and looked away with a shrug. Rose frowned in worry and a little hurt, but looked back at Connor. "I think that's ok..." She said, with another glace at Azriel, who was studiously not looking at her and examining the road.

"Of course it is! There's a nice restaurant on this street that I'm sure can cater to all of our tastes." Connor said reassuringly, offering his arm to Rosa. Rosa hesitated, but eventually linked arms with Connor, who led her up the street, a glowering Azriel and a beaming Melissa following close behind.

They walked into the restaurant, and were shown to a table by the window almost immediately. Connor pulled out one of the chairs beside the window for Rosa, before waling round the table to sit opposite her. Azriel was going to sit beside her, but Melissa slipped into that seat before he could. So, glowering darkly at Melissa, he sat next to Connor.

After only a few minutes, a waiter came and asked what they would like to drink. "A bottle of your best red wine, I think" Connor said smoothly.

"Anything else?" The waiter asked.

Connor looked to Rosa, Azriel and Melissa, all of whom shook their heads. "No, thats fine, thank you." The waiter nodded and left.

"So, Rosa, tell me more about this school of yours." Connor prompted, leaning over the table, and completely ignoring Melissa and Azriel.
