~These two feelings~
OoO I've actually decided to see what i can do with this, seeing as I seem to have my inspiration back ^w^ (Three fics in one morning ^w^)
Just a reminder, cause it really has been MONTHS since I last wrote any of this: Rosa wants to start a magic school. Meets Azriel the friendly Necromancer (Azriel: ¬_¬ Why must you mock me so? T^T), meets Freya, meets Melissa, is currently hanging with Melissa and Connor is WHORE-VILLE ^^"
Fights All Around! (Part 1)
"It's very kind of you to let us stay here, Connor" Rosa said. She was stood awkwardly in the hallway of Connor's house, while Azriel glowered at the floor behind her, and Melissa was already making herself comfortable on Connor's couch.
"It's nothing." Connor waved her off, a charming smile on his face. He pushed Melissa's feet off the table as he sat down and patted the seat beside him, looking at Rosa. She sat beside him, looking all the more awkward. Azriel practically threw himself into the armchair, not even sure why he was staying in the first place. "So, Rosa, what did you do before you set off on this quest?"
"I owned a bookshop" Rosa told him.
"A bookshop?" Connor asked curiously. "Do you like reading, then?"
"Oh, yes!" Rosa nodded enthusiastically. "I love reading! It's so freeing! I can do anything, be anyone." She blushed self-consciously.
Connor laughed. "I know exactly what you mean. Do you have an favourite books or authors?"
"Ah, well-" Rosa began, but she was cut off by the sound of someone knocking on the door.
"Excuse me" Connor said getting up and leaving the room. After a moment, he could be heard calling "Melissa, come here a sec!" Melissa huffed and left the room also.
Rosa shifted in the ensuing silence, feeling acutely uncomfortable. "Um, Azriel?" She asked, fiddling with the trim on her cloak.
"What?" Azriel snapped.
Rosa jumped at the harshness in his voice, wincing as well. "I was just-... Are you cross with me?" She asked, her expression somewhere between curious and scared.
"Just a tad" There was sarcasm lacing Azriels tone, and it made Rosa frown.
"What've I done?" She asked, slightly indignantly.
Azriel was silent for so long, Rosa thought he wasn't going to answer, but then he seemed to snap. "The whole evening you've acted like I don't exist! First in the restaurant, and now here too! Am I really that insignificant to you?!"
Rosa gaped at him. "I- I didn't... act like that..." She said quietly, not really believing her own words. Azriel just snorted derisively and crossed his arms, looking away from her. She scowled. "Well, it's not like you made any effort to talk to ME either! Unlike Connor, who was a complete gentleman, you just acted like a sulky toddler all evening!"
Azriel whipped round and glared at her so furiously Rosa cringed. "Oh, right, because Conner really gives a damn about you!" Azriel said sarcastically. "He even told you straight to your face what he does, and you fell for his smooth talk like a niave little girl with a prince-complex!" Biting her lip to stop herself saying anything else she'd regret, Rosa jumped to her feet and left the room. Azriel clenched his teeth and sighed heavily, dropping his head into his hands. "Idiot" He muttered to himself.
